Each season, different pests are in their prime. Our Seasonal Pest Outlook helps you be vigilant about the latest threats – before they become a problem for your guests or customers.
Risk Levels
Switch Seasons:
Spring The spring thaw is quickly followed by pests of all kinds. That makes this a good time to re-emphasize sound pest-management practices for your business
Rodents
Throughout spring, the rodent population increases, which means numerous mice and rats are seeking food and shelter. Your business could be a target.
TIP: Rodents seeking shelter enter through small holes. Check your property regularly.
Flies
Flies swarm come spring. Food, lingering garbage, sewage and trash attract them, and fruit flies can even fit through screens. Potential risks include passage of disease.
TIP: Check trash for spillage, and keep an eye on drains and sewer pipes.
Ants
Pavement ant colonies battle during the spring, and ants of all kinds forage throughout the year. Once they appear, their colony-mates typically follow.
TIP: Check for trash and spills, plug holes, and keep an eye on pipes, sinks, and heaters.
Termites
In late spring, termites swarm to create new colonies. Entering through cracks the size of a pinhead, termites burrow into wood to lay their eggs.
TIP: The best remedy is prevention. Seal all cracks and remove wood debris.
Roaches (Persistent Induction Threat)
Unfortunately, roaches are a year-round threat. Able to enter through cracks as thin as a dime, they're attracted to food scraps, cardboard and water.
TIP: To prevent infestations, remove unused boxes and keep a tidy workplace.
