Carpenter Ant ProgramsCarpenter ants are a natural part of our outdoor environment. They play an important and beneficial role in breaking down rotting wood debris in our forests. It is only when they invade your home that carpenter ants become a serious problem. There will always be carpenter ants trying to invade your home. It’s our job to stop them through a sound, integrated approach. Carpenter ants are random foragers who migrate from primary nests established outdoors. They can invade your home through just about any small crack or opening to look for food and establish new nesting locations. Western delivers an effective carpenter ant program, which includes a thorough exterior inspection and a customized treatment, to eliminate these new nests and prevent reinfestations. “One-size-fits-all” treatments aren’t always the best fit when it comes to solving your pest infestation. Western employs an integrated approach in the design of all our carpenter ant treatments. Based on careful inspection, we customize our recommendations to the specific conditions conducive to your ant problem. The thorough inspection includes those areas vulnerable to carpenter ant activity in and around your home:
Solutions Western employs a "toolbox" approach in the design of a tailored treatment, based on our careful analysis and observation. Recommendations offered may include structural modifications, alterations to the surrounding micro-environment, sanitation changes, and the use of state-of-the-art materials to eliminate and prevent carpenter ants from nesting inside the home. After Western’s customized treatment, ants will continue to forage freely through the treated zone where they will be exposed to the material through contact or ingestion. The materials Western uses have "delayed action” mortality, allowing us to take advantage of the social behavior of ants. Foraging ants will live long enough to bring the material back to the nest where it is transferred to other ants through feeding, grooming, and social contact. This “transfer effect” becomes an important tool for eliminating those nests located in the structure. Your Satisfaction is Guaranteed: Western will
provide a written one-year Guarantee of Carpenter Ant Protection once
treatment is completed. We will render any necessary treatment at no additional
charge if reinfestation occurs.
