At Western Pest Services one of our main values – one we take very seriously – is how we put our people first. Our people are the key to our success, after all. But the word “people” doesn’t just mean our team members. It also means the people who live in the communities around our branches. That’s why our charitable works are so important to us. They keep us focused on living the Western way: providing heroic impact, being remarkable, and staying together (it’s essential).
One of our favorite charities that we’ve given to several times before is the Food Bank of Delaware. They rely on the generosity of the community to help fill the pantry. The Food Bank solicits, warehouses and distributes food through a network of hunger-relief partners to feed the people of Newark, Delaware, and the surrounding areas. Their partners include food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, and other community food providers. What better way to be a remarkable hero than being one of their partners as well?
This time around, the team collected about 500 items totaling over 640 pounds of food. Billie Carberry, Director of Sales, and Jack Russell, Business Development Specialist dropped the food off to the food pantry. You can tell by the picture they were super happy to be helping this charity out. This charity is a favorite at Western since it’s about more than just food. While their mission is to provide nutritious food to people in need in Delaware, they are also all about solutions. Finding solutions to the hunger and poverty problems in their community while providing education and advocacy. It’s more than just feeding people. It’s about public health and safety. Being a public health and safety company ourselves, we can relate. And we are proud to help. Because being essential together means just that: together in all ways that are essential.
