Our Latest Mission – Giving Back!

At Western Pest Services, giving back to our communities is a year-round commitment. Whether it’s packing backpacks with school supplies, collecting food for local pantries, or stuffing stockings for a cause, our team thrives on making a difference. However, there’s something about the holiday season that makes these efforts even more meaningful.

This past holiday season, the team came together for the second time in a row to run a super successful Toy Drive for Sunday Breakfast Mission. This incredible organization provides care and support to homeless, hurting, and hungry individuals and families in the Wilmington, DE area. Their services include emergency shelter, long-term rehabilitation programs, community outreach, and much more to uplift those in need.

Their programs resonate with us here at Western Pest Services because our coworkers are more than that – they’re our extended family. So, supporting the family structure and setting people in our communities up for success is something we can all agree upon! We asked Billie Carberry, Director of Sales, why she chose Sunday Breakfast Mission for this year’s toy drive. She said, “I have been involved with the Sunday Breakfast for over 5 years through Western and another organization I belong to. I was there previously helping parents choose presents for their children. It’s very heartwarming to see and hear that their child will have a few gifts. I’ve also helped with their backpack program and food program.”

In the end, Western Pest Services, with the help of the entire team, donated over 200 toys to Sunday Breakfast Mission. That’s 200-smiling facing on Christmas morning. Billie noted, “I hear the stories of how happy the children will be. This is why I continue to stay involved in this organization – they continually give back to the community.” W. Bruce Davison, Church and Community Relations Manager at Sunday Breakfast Mission, was very appreciative of the toy donations. He said, “We really appreciate your generosity and involvement. Thank you for being part of their lives.”

The good news is it was our team’s pleasure to do this. Just the thought of the smiles on those kids’ faces makes it all so very worth it.
