Pest Control in Gloucester City, NJ

Set in Camden County, Gloucester City was incorporated by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 25, 1868. The name Fort Nassau was used by the Dutch in the 17th century for several fortifications, mostly trading stations, named for the House of Orange-Nassau. The one built in the 1620s at today’s Gloucester City was for trade, mostly in beaver pelts, with the indigenous population of Susquehannock and Lenape. The region along the Delaware River and its bay was called the Zuyd Rivier and marked the southern flank of the province of New Netherland. From 1638–1655 the area was part of New Sweden, which had been established by Peter Minuit, who had been Director of New Netherland, and was responsible for the famous purchase of the island of Manhattan. The location was disadvantageous since the richest fur-trapping area was on the west side of the river, where Swedish could intercept trade with the natives. In 1651, Peter Stuyvesant, director-general of New Netherland, dismantled the structure and relocated to a position on the other side of the river, in part to menace the Swedish, calling it Fort Casimir.

Gloucester City is home to a host of natural and rural attractions. Stay in the fast lane at the Simone Museum. Get your ice cream fix at the Turkey Hill Experience. Learn how their ice cream is made, sit in a milk truck, milk their mechanical cows, and learn about the people and culture of Turkey Hill Dairy. Plus, vanilla bean ice cream. Being so close to Camden, you can also make a day of it at the nearby Adventure Aquarium. Walk through the shark tunnel where fish and sharks swim all around you. It’s immersive without the Jaws vibe. If you’re brave enough, you can even touch a shark! After all that excitement, have a hearty meal at Holy City Publick House. With 12 different burgers to choose from, you’ll be saying holy moly! Every year, people flock to Gloucester City to enjoy everything it has to offer, but unfortunately, so do pests. While these bugs and rodents provide benefits to the eco-system in Gloucester City, they can also be a serious problem at homes and businesses. That’s when a professional pest control expert should be called in.

Pest Control Services Near You

Properly controlling pests in Gloucester City, NJ should be done on a local level. Gloucester City’s pest issues are different than Cape May’s and way different than New York City’s. The pest control company you choose should have knowledge and expertise in your town. That’s Western Pest Services. We have been servicing New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, and Pennsylvania for almost 100 years. That kind of expertise is unmatched in the industry. And with a branch located in nearby Maple Shade, our technicians, customer services representatives, and everyone else that works at that location lives and works in the area, too. Our neighbors are your neighbors, and we treat them that way.

As the Garden State, New Jersey is known for its forests, farms, trails, and abundance of greenery and lush vegetation. Gloucester City is no exception. Warm, moist summers give way to cold winters, which means over-wintering insects, rodents, and other small wildlife need to find warm places to wait out the cold. The local extermination experts at our Maple Shade, NJ branch are used to dealing with mice, carpenter ants, bed bugs, termites, mosquitoes, ticks – and even the occasional cheeky raccoon or hiding bat. No matter the season, your pest control service needs will be taken care of by a local exterminator that knows the area and the pests that are common to it. In the summer, they know what that the ponds and birdbaths many people have around their homes can be exactly where mosquitoes like to breed. They know that the ticks that come out during the summer months can transmit Lyme disease so while nobody can help the wooded areas around Proprietors Park, they can help your backyard stay free from them. In the cooler months, they know mice can try to make their way into your garage – especially if that’s where you keep the 20 lb. dog food bag! No matter what pest, any time of the year, our pest control treatments in Gloucester City can help, including:

  • Bats
  • Bed bugs
  • Pest birds
  • Spotted lanternflies
  • Ants
